One thing about Daniel that always gets me is that his faithfulness didn’t begin when the lions showed up. It was built through years of choosing God when compromise would have been easier. The lions’ den was the moment everyone saw his faith—but God had been shaping that faith long before anyone was watching. That convicts me. Am I only faithful when it costs me nothing, or have I already decided who I belong to before the test comes?
