The idea that the egg chose him is what makes this special — he's a hunter, not a hero, and suddenly he's a father to a newborn dragon. The hatching scene had real warmth. You can feel his whole identity shifting from killer to protector in just a few minutes.

Everyone is talking about how beautiful it was that the dragon chose him as its father, but I think there’s a much darker question underneath this story.
Does raising someone with love give you the right to hide the truth about their past?
The hunter protects the dragon, feeds him, raises him and becomes the only father he knows. That bond is real. But once the truth about the dragon’s mother enters the story, everything changes. Love doesn’t automatically erase what happened before that love began.
