This was absolutely superb on many levels. For me, it was the bulk of Project Hail Mary in under 10 mins, as the flow goes:
stabbed in the back by humanity -> forced to survive against the odds because of humanity -> meet friendly alien life form -> leave humanity behind and move to something better
