What a great overview! Your analysis and ability to communicate said analysis is top notch. Those graphics are too good to spend so little time on screen. I was pausing all the way through the video to take them in! I hope that doesn’t negatively impact the algorithm! Well done on this video.

Well done! I’ve watched a lot of videos on choosing the right model and specs for entry-level local AI and this is one of the best. 👏🏼
A follow-up video on where the M5 Pro Mac mini can fit in between the M6 and a Mac Studio in terms of increased unified memory capacity and bandwidth would be awesome.

Given the insane chip speeds of the current M line, the difference between the 4,5, or 6 matters less than having the right amount of RAM and bandwidth for running AI local. Buy as much of those two things as you can for better performance.

I purchased my M6 mini for local ia experimentation. I ordered mine with 32GB Ram and 1TB ssd. I am hoping that it will be semi future-proof for at least 4 years. For none ia applications like video editing, it’s faster than my outgoing MacBook Air M4!
