Lots of research shows watching and reading long fiction helps brain development. This new trend helps explain/accelerate the decline of empathy and critical thinking. Humanity is really in trouble.

Man I saw a snippet of these "micro-dramas", & immediately was like, "God, this is the most banal, cliche plot I've ever see..." I'm shocked that anyone could find them interesting lol

I have watched a few hundred microdramas and they are truly addictive, but I will never pay. I'll only watch the free and full ones (not the 90 sec clips) that come out tens daily that I can't catch up.
I just started watching AI movies and some are surprisingly good with smooth flow, good dialogues and different storylines.

Maybe it will democratize this medium and actually allow some really good storytelling to get to the masses rather than only the stories that Hollywood sanctions us to see.
