Ethan Mercer is sent to destroy a mysterious Guardian but discovers it was actually protecting the galaxy by imprisoning an ancient evil beneath the planet. After humanity accidentally weakens the prison, Ethan chooses compassion over orders and fights alongside the Guardian and Elya. Together they seal the prison, but the Guardian sacrifices itself, becoming a stone protector forever.
